What should I do if my refrigerator will not shut off?

It just keeps running, but I can't tell if there is a leak somewhere.

If I could not shut my refrigerator off I would check it for any problems - leaks, corrosion, dirt, and the like. I would check its cooling temperatures and make sure that it is set to the proper temperature. Unplug it temporarily or flip the breaker.

First, try adjusting the temperature setting to the highest (warmest) available. If that does not change anything, unplug the entire until for at least one full minute. Upon powering on, the thermostat should reset and will regulate properly. If the unit had a leak, you would hear water running or smell an unusual odor. Leaks are easily detectable.

Try pulling it off the wall and cleaning the cover back there. It's probably clogged with dust bunnies and making your fridge work extra hard to keep things cool.

Check to see what the thermostat is set to. If it is set very low in a high temperature atmosphere it could take a while to reach the target.

I think the thermstat is not working therefore the refrigeraallt ctor will continue to run. I would suggest calling a repair man right away.
