Tobacco in all forms is a very toxic substance. One should be careful that your dog does not eat any tobacco product. I would suggest that the dog be taken to the vet. This way one can be sure to check if there has been any harm done to your pet.

Give him lots of water but most likely it will not hurt him. It should pass through his system in a day and he will be fine. If he starts throwing up I would call your vet.

Nicotine is toxic to dogs as well as humans. The level of nicotine for toxicity is 5 milligrams per pound of body weight. A cigarette contains 15 to 25 milligrams of nicotine depending on the brand. If your dog is stumbling, vomiting, drooling, or has diarrhea or tremors you should definitely take him/her to the Vet.

There are chemicals in tobacco that are harmful to humans. It does contain anti freeze in it. I would suggest that a vet to look at him. There is rat poison in tobacco, moth balls ingredients. How much did the dog eat? I am going to say call a vet and seek medical advice.
