First your timing should be checked by a professional and set to correct place. If that is not the problem the head gasket should be checked. Vaccuum leaks cause a lack in power as well.

Change plugs and plug wires. Clean air filter and fuel filter. Check all vacuum hoses for any cracks or leaks. Use spray like WD-40 to spray around plenium and listen for RPM's to go up or down indicating a gasket leak. Use a good injector cleaner in your fuel.

Run a check on all major engine components. Make sure you have steady fuel supply and adequate pressure. Check your ignition coil, wires, and definitely spark plugs. Check your timing to make sure it is correct and that your plug are gapped right. Then check the intake housing to vacuum leaks or stuck or blocked ports and components.

First try resetting the idle censors. If this does not help begin cleaning the fuel injectors to determine if maybe excess buildup is causing the care to idle funny or lack power.
