You need to use a thick moisturizing cream for dry or very dry skin. Try a body butter with cocoa butter or with shea butter. The Body Shop makes some great body butters. Or you could try a lotion from the drugstore with cocoa butter or shea butter in it.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! The best thing is to build up the skin you have and make it as strong as it can be. Lather the lotion on baby!!

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Wear gloves when doing dishes, when gardening, when going out in the cold. You may even want to wear moisturizer gloves to bed each night so they can keep your hands moist while you sleep. Protect and moisturize!!

Apply moisturizer and wear full sleeve dress when going out. Do not scrub with soap regularly as it will rob the skin of its natural oils.

There isn't a whole lot you can do about skin that has gotten thin. Your skin thins as part of the aging process. When we get older, the fat that is just under the skin gradually goes away. This leads to looking older as a result. Skin tears are easily acquired on thin skin so be cautious.
