What should I do for a cat with larvae in a wound?

You really need to take the cat to a veterinarian. The larvae and wound must be cleaned out and the vet might have to remove some tissue and then stitch it closed. Don't let it fester anymore than it already has, it's painful and can get much worse.

This happened to a cat of ours once. The best idea is to take the cat to your local vet and have him/her clean the wound and remove the larvae. They'll probably prescribe antibiotics as well. Your cat should be healed up in no time!

If the cat has larva in the wound, they could be maggots. If the injury is this severe, it is recommended to take the animal to a veterinarian immediately.
