There is nothing in this world that cannot not be changed through love and affection, first find out her like and dislikes and treat her as you treat your own daughter over period of time, you will find change in her behaviour dont expect miracle immediately this will take some time. Talk to her frankly, Understand her needs act accordingly.

You need to take her aside and have an honest talk with her. Tell her you must be treated with respect and that you will respect her. Tell her you ar enot trying to be her mother but that you are in a parental situation and she must listen to and obey you.

It depends on her age. If she's 12 or 13, she probably hates every adult. Our 2 girls - now 17 and 18 - were miserable to their stepdad when they were younger. The best thing to remember is that you DO deserve respect. But have patience, remember you can't win every battle; choose carefully. And she will grow up!

The important thing is to remember you are the parent. Set limits with her and enforce them consistently. Your not there as a friend, your there as a parent. Make sure your spouse is supporting you, have them sit down with her and reinforce that you are an authority figure as well.
