Visit a reputable chiropractor who can gently adjust the spinal pinch to allow nerve flow to be reconnected. Also consider stretching exercises for the neck and shoulder muscles to relax the area, which will release some of the pain. Nutritionally, a natural anti inflammatory such as curcumin or boswellia herbs and foods can help relax the pain.

Yes, it is extremely painful. A collar or pillow at the back of the neck to hold your head straight will help a little but you must see an orthopedic person and get a prescription. You will get almost instant relief and I strongly recommended you do that.

If you do not want to go to a doctor, then try some ibuprofen, and alternate between icing it and using a heating pad. A really warm shower helps too.

The pain may be from nerves or neck injuries. If the problem continues to happen, an individual's daily activities and mental health may be affected. Check with a neurologist who will likely conduct tests to confirm the causes. Oral treatment may be prescribed.

Any time an individual experiences a pinched nerve in their neck they should consult a doctor immediately who will probably refer them to a specialized doctor.

Definately try a hot shower first to relax your muscles. I would reccomend that you call your family physician immediately.
