Make sure your childs vaccinations are up to date. Bring records of vaccinations, passports, photo or finger print id's, birth certificates and if they have any special medicine or food you cannot get at your destination.
Be sure to have some of their favorite snacks for them to munch on. You can also pack each child a little back pack filled with a few of their favorite things such as a favorite stuffed animal, book, small toy, etc.
The one item I found I needed with children that I could not find in several European countries was the equivalent of TUMS! With the different food it was not wonder their tummies were upset. I then asked to buy peppermint candy as an alternate, that was even tougher to find!
