You should have your Urologist monitor the cyst. Treatment will depend on your age, your health, and the overall risk of kidney cancer. Some treatments may include laparoscopic cryoablation and radiofrequency alation. These treatments are minimally invasive. It is best to discuss your options with a physician that specializes in kidney disease so that you can get the best treatment possible.

A urologist will evaluate the cyst, consider its location and involvement in the kidney, and devise a treatment plan. Much is determined by the nature of the cyst itself.

If the cyst is not causing any symptoms, usually the doctor will just keep an eye on it to see if it grows anymore. If the cyst grows bigger it can press on other organs and then the cyst will need further treatment. If there is pain but not constant, the doctor may suggest over the counter medications.
