The material doesn't matter. Fruit ripens when exposed to ethylene, naturally generated by fruit. Glazed ceramic makes good decoration. Try a paper bag with a handful of rice inside.

A Fruit Ripening Bowl should be made out of Plastics. According to my experience, the first advantage is that it is not easily breakable. Secondly, these bowls are cheap to use and finally, using appropriate textures and designs, it can add to the beauty of house displays.

There are more expensive ones made of glass and there are cheaper ones made o plastic. Either material is fine so shich one you choose to use would be a matter of aesthetics and personal preference.
