What problems might arise when converting recipes?

When we try a new recipe we usually confused in the measuring the ingredients, like 1ltr. milk or 1gm.baking powder. at times we don't have the measuring scales available .

On converting recipe the problems could be arise such as problem of converting units of ingredients, problem of cooking time, problem could be arise of a particular dish that could have been converted to its original form in to the new form of cooking etc.
