The main thing is to drink water from a bottle and make sure they open the bottle right in front of you. It is better to avoid salads, or any raw fruits and vegetables, and stick to boiled and cooked meals. If the food is prepared in front of you, make sure elementary food sanitation is followed.

Restaurant dining is fine anywhere you see plenty of people eating, because busy means food is fresh, as it hasn't been standing in the kitchen all day as they wait for customers. Don't drink bottled water because sometimes they fill it up with tap water and just reseal the bottles. You will be better off drinking sodas.
