What needed rationing in World War II?

I know people had to go without a lot during the war.

World War II rationed fuel and rubber to provide raw materials for machines of war. Sugar, meat, milk, and canned goods were rationed for civilians in order to feed troops.

Gasoline was rationed and was the most difficult rationed product to endure. Rubber, steel, and various other metals were also rationed.

In America nearly all foodstuffs were rationed along with any materials that could otherwise be used by the soldiers, like fuel, tires, and steel.

From stories related by my family it was a lot. Many food items like bread, butter, meat, chocolate, eggs and cheese. Gasoline and oil (motor and heating)was also rationed.
