What mileage should struts be replaced on a car or truck?

Strut makers say they should be replaced every 50 thousand miles which is a good number if you want to do them regularly. Normally they are not actually worn out at this point. Have a mechanic check or test yourself by bouncing the car it should settle after one bounce.

If it is a general OEM strut then usually every 50,000 miles to 80,000 miles. If you have an upgraded strut such as KYB you could probably go for about 100,000 miles before replacement. Changing struts at a shop is usually about 60 dollar a corner so 240 dollars for all 4.

you can not always go by the miles. if the vehicle has been driven on the highway then the struts could last longer than average.
