Nerve irritation, decreased blood flow or circulation problems, and musculoskeletal pain can cause these sensations. Nerve irritation may be due to a herniated disc in the back. Nerves or blood flow could be pinched under the arms. Narrowing of the veins due to atherosclerosis may also cause pain.
