Tramadol is a good medication for muscle spasms in dogs. My dog has had muscle spasms and this medication was prescribed for him and it helped him out a lot.

Your vet would know that better than I, but it may be something else causing the spasms, such as a pinched nerve or degenerative disc disease.

To treat muscle spasms in dogs try giving the pet accupuncture. There are instances where even 5 minutes of accupuncture therapy has helped treat the spasms. Robaxin,Benadryl and antibiotics.
