I think you mean an inflammed urethra. You will get a standard anti inflammatory such as motrin. To help this work drink lots of water. It will dilute the urine making it less acidic.

The most common treatment for urethritis is antibiotics. One antibiotic your doctor might prescribe is Metronidazole Oral tablets. This drug works really well for those who have urethritis. There may be darkening of the urine while using this but, this is harmless. Contact your doctor if there are serious side effects.

If the urethritis is found, a culture should be taken by a doctor to determine what type of infection it is. Since can take a few days, doctors usually start by giving patients an oral antibiotic. If it's yeast, an oral anti-fungal or anti-viral for a virus can be given.

Since urethritis, or infection of the urethra, may be caused by any organisms, a urine culture is obtained and the individual is first placed on a general, broad spectrum antibiotic.
