Many materials are insulators. They are: ABS, acetate, acrylic, beryllium oxide, ceramic, delrin, fiberglass, glass, kapton, kynar, lexon and merlin, melamine, mica, niopreme, nomex, PET, phenolics, polyester, polyolefins, polysteryne, polyourethane, PVC, silicone, silicone rubber, teflon, and thermoplastics. All these materials are insulators. Although some of these are weak insulators while others are stronger insulators.

The components of insulators are: brass terminal, electrical contacts, tinned busbar, sleeved busbar, busbar assembly, battery accessories, bolted pillars, wrapped flexible, machined components, precision pressed parts, forged components, copper forgings, etc.

Good electrical insulators are the plastics, wood, glass, paper. Most of the substances that don't have a metallic contain are good candidates for being insulators. Even water, if it is distilled, is a good insulator.
