It is just molten rock. The Earth's core is very hot. So hot the rock there melts. When there is some break in the Earth's crust, some of this molten rock is forced to the surface forming a volcano. The heat in the Earth's core is generated through the decay of radioactive elements.

Lava is merely earthy materials (think rocks) that are under enough heat and pressure that they are no longer in solid form but rather liquid.

Lava is made from a rock that was inside a volcano wene the rock gets so hot it is no longer a solid it is a liquid that has been boiling inside the volcano.
