It's natural for a rubber tree to drop bottom leaves, but if too many leaves are dropping then it is probably being over watered. Water it once every 3-6 weeks.

Most plants genereally drop leaves when exposed to not enough water and/or sunlight. Try increasing the water you give your plant but little amounts, keep the water moist but not wet and the plant should do much better shortly. It will take time so expect more leaves to fall before it gets better.

Too little water, too much water, not enough light. It might be rootbound (check for yellowing leaves) or need fertilizer. Try repotting into a bigger pot, monitoring water and adding a few drops of Miracle Gro diluted in water, or add Osmocote slow release pellets directly to soil.

Generally, when a plant looses it's leaves it is caused by three different things: not enough sun light, or not enough/too much water. Move it and change the soil.

A rubber tree will drop its leaves for a few reasons. The most common is overwatering. Rubber trees like to be watered infrequently but thoroughly. Secondly, the plant does not like to be handled so if there are children or others who touch it, it may drop its' leaves.

It could just be a simple watering error-Either too much water or not enough water. Try watering your plant once a week depending on the condition of the soil it is potted in. Pick one day aof the week and water the plant on that day.

A rubber tree plant is a succulent and needs lots of sun and water. Lacking these two things will create the leaves to drop.

Rubber tree plants have to get used to the new climate it is in. if it is a house plant then the person who grew it before could have exposed it to much more or much less light. It is simply loosing leaves.
