Typically allergies to tattoo ink are in response to the metals used to create certain colors. These type of allergies are problematic because they may take time to flare up and can destroy the surrounding skin or cause life threatening conditions.

IF you have an allergy to any type of metal that is the most common. Colors such as red and orange contain certain types of metal. Just as a piercing made from silver may affect you the same goes for tattoos. Check for bumps or rash on the tattoo.
