What kind of worms can live in carpet?

It was probably just a one-off thing, like a worm that crawled in from somewhere else. Alternatively, it could be flea larvae, or the larva from carpet beetles but those are not very worm-like... they are fuzzy little bug-like creatures.

I do know of Carpet worms that thrive in carpets, especially wool carpets. These worms are infested because of food dropped onto carpets or also could be if your pet poops on the carpet! Once the carpet is infested it is very hard to get rid of them as they start laying eggs and so there are loads of larve.

I thought they were some kind of baby snakes, because I found one on my front porch too.

I found tiny silver worms about an inch long, very thin with a head and pointy tail in my living room on the carpet. What kind are these.

I found two worms, two different corners or the room, about two weeks apart. Small, about an eighth of an inch in diameter, and the first one about an inch long, the second one about half an inch long. What are they and how can I get rid of them?
