For curly hair you want long, seamless layers tapering off toward the bottom. This cut will prevent curls from frizzing, or the whole head from taking on a triangle shape!

The best haircut that you can get for this kind of hair is a gypsy shag. Not the 70's shag that is short and edgy. This shag allows the hair to remail longer than a traditional haircut. Where curly hair tends to shorten because of the wave this haircut gets gradually longer and lighter and very stylish.

I am in my late teens and have very curly hair, too. My hairstylist and I worked together and discovered that long, face framing layers worked the best. Don't cut layers too short, they will just spring up, get fuzzy, and look out of place. Bangs will also be a catastrophe. Work with your stylist and good luck!

Layering can be great for curly hair, however, a couple of things should be avoided: 1) overlayering looks poofy. 2) no bangs! They require management, which isn't child friendly.

Curly hair can be difficult to handle, especially on a child. Keep layers long throughout the hair so the top layer doesn't curl up too much.

Curly hair can appear to be unruly. A good haircut is essential to keep hair looking nice at all times. Curly hair should be cut in long layers, tapered toward the face. The back should be left longer than the sides.

You are going to want something with longer layers, like a bob with stacking in the back to accent the curl, or something short and close to the head.

The gypsy shag is considered the best choice that you can get for your daughter. While letting the hair to be longer than normal haircut, however, it is not the same as the short and edgy 70's style of shag.

The long layers will help tone down the volume while short layers will give the hair a lot more body.

You need to get long layers. Short layers look very stacked and don't look right with curly hair.
