For a blind person, you need to get a CD player where all the major function control buttons has a distinct pattern on them that is detectable by touch. For instance, the Sony Discman has certain indentation patterns on their buttons to allow the user to control their player by feel if it was inside a bag.

One solution for me was to glue texture patches to certain buttons: sandpaper, velvet, corduroy, and a nubby-feeling spot of plastic. Tryit. It works.  add a comment

All types of cd players are good for a blind person. A blind person doesnt need their eyes to listen to music. They listen through headphones. music is something beautiful that all types of people can enjoy and listen to. Therefore, I believe there is no specific cd player that a blind person should specifically buy.

Get one with nice large buttons that have raised surfaces on them. These raised surfaces will allow the blind person to feel what each button means.

A good CD player for a blind person is one that can be voice controlled or one that has braille on the buttons. It would be useful if the player can also repeat what button has been pressed and ask to confirm.

Every person will prefer a different kind but some of the ones with the best reviews and top sellers are RIO, SONY D, and Casio p2-5000.
