If Ford Escort engine fan will not shut off, there are two possibilities. One of them is that the thermostat thinks the engine is still hot. In this case, you should make sure that the engine is actually cool. The other possibility is that the thermostat is faulty/broken. If this is the case, you should replace the thermostat.

Well it is typically for a fan to run for a little while after the engine is turned off. If it stay running though the temperature sending unit needs checking.

It will continue to run when engine is warm and if it does not turn off when ignition is turned of then try a ford dealership
