Occasionally, our menstrual cycles are late--or completely skipped, without being pregnant. If more time goes by and you're still concerned, you can always see your healthcare provider for a urine HCG test.

First off,it could be off schedule from stress, physical factors, or stopping birth control a while ago. Secondly, some pregnancy tests are only effective after a certain time period.

If you're not on birth control, you could just be late--because of stress, hormone fluctuations, etc. It may also be a bigger problem, like an ovarian cyst or thyroid disorder. Either way, give it a few days, relax, try another pregnancy test, and if you still don't get your period, make an appointment with your doctor.

It could be that you have your days off, stress can cause a later period as well as medications or illness.
