Chemistry is the study of chemical reactions of substances, as opposed to their physical properties. Wet chemistry is a subset involving the use of liquids, often water, as solvent.

wet chemistry is experimental chemistry, which requires that chemists mix solutions to do their work, Dry Chemists, on the other hand, are theoretical chemists, who do the calculations required to understand the work of the wet chemists. The majority of chemists are wet chemists, who try to synthesize chemicals for a variety of purposes.

Wet chemistry is also known as bench chemistry and primarily pertains to chemistry performed in the liquid phase. Some solids or gases may be introduced but are commonly dissolved.
