Your vet will have to diagnose the anemia and low thyroid. It is likely that your vet will prescribe a special diet and medication for your dog such as T-4 hormones. Remember that the vet always knows best. Please do not self diagnose your animal. Take him to the vet.

Insufficient production of thyroid hormone is called hypothyroidism and 1 symptom of it is anemia. There are different tests that can be done by a vet. A dog with hypothroidism would be placed on a daily dose of a synthetic thyroid hormone called thyroxine (levothyroxine). A dog needs to be on the medicine for the rest of his life.

If you have lab tests showing your dog is anemic and has low thyroid - and you don't know what to do you need to see a speciailst. Or you need to get a new vet. These are potentially life-threatening conditions, not something to treat yourself with advice from the internet.

You will want to consult a veterinarian. Your dog will need medication to deal with the thyroid problem, and you will probably need a special food for the anemia.
