Mexico is wonderful place of rich herritage, one of the things that people often overlook is the fact that fine dining in Mexican cuisine is amazing and so diffrent from American Food or the American version of Mexican food. Ask around and try some great MOLE suace while you are there.

Matehuala, like most Mexican cities of any size, has a Plaza de Armas and a Cathedral. It is also near Real de Catorce a town that is well worth visiting.

Matehuala, Mexico has a few attractions for tourists, including a Mayan ruin that can be explored. The best thing about it is that it is not at all touristy.

fiestas are January 8th, Fiesta del Cristo de Matehuala; June 13th, Día de San Antonibut is a good place to stay a night or two pretty much a good pit stop
