Many people wrongly attribute a dog's behavior to abuse when you cannot really tell if that happened based on dog behavior. There is no way to tell the difference between a nervous dog that shies away, growls or bites due to lack of early socialization and training or because of being hit for example.

They tend to be very passive and shy! They are shy to the specfic sex of the abuser! You will try to pet the dog and he will cowar in fear!! It is usually pretty easy to tell if a dog is abused!!

A dog will cower to the touch of most anyone. The dog may also have abrasions, lumps, be bleeding and have a general look of anxiety or malaise.

Dogs can go in two different directions if you do a specific action that triggers a past even to them, they can either become offensive where they might try to defend themselves or curl into a ball either way you have to prove to them you're trust able.
