Figuring out the tax rate of a diamond is easily done with basic mathematical skills. Each state has its own tax rate. Tax is figured on the acutal cost of the diamond ring. Cost X percent: tax Example: $3000 ring, tax is 6% $3000 x .06: $180.00. Ring total with tax: $3000.00 + $180.00 = $3180.00 Total ring cost.
