This is dependent on what you are wanting if you are looking at a basic single car garage the standard would be 12 x 20. If you are looking at a 2 car garage the standard size is around 24x24. You may want to scale it to the depth of our house for cosmetic consideration.

The approximate size for a garage to hold one average car, not an SUV is 12 feet wide and 20 feet long.

In order to have enough space to put up a garage, the minimum size is 12 feet wide by 22 feet long. But to give you enough room, you would need it to be 2 feet longer at 24 feet long.

the standard garage size is for a 2 car garage it is 16ft by 7ft which is quiet big but usually most people have 20 by 24 and s usually around 7ft tall that is really the standard size so if you havr that space then you should have enough space to add one.
