When making your own kitchen cabinets the base cabinets are 24" deep and 34-1/2" high. When making your wall cabinets the depth is 12" typically. Some wall cabinets can be made deeper like a corner wall cabinet for visual effect and for more storage.

The usual depth of a kitchen cabinet is 24 inches. Cabinets can be deeper, however, as deep as 30 inches.

Today there is no real set rules to that. Your cabinets can be from 15" to 24" and you will still have people exclaim over them.

The depth of the wall cabinet is 12 inches and base cabinet depth is 24 inches. The cabinets with less than 12 inches are not standard.
