What is the "SetConfig application" error when I start up XP Home?

Apparently this is associated with HP printers or scanners. If you happen to have one attached to your computer, I'd suggest heading over to the HP site and downloading the latest drivers for your hardware. Installing the new software may solve this problem.

Usually this means you have a program that is starting up but not functioning correctly. Check Start > Programs > Startup > and remove any old shortcuts. Old printer software can sometimes cause this. Also check to make sure your Antivirus and Malware protection is up to date and run a scan.

The drivers for your HP printer are likely out of date and no loger functioning properly. This may also be caused by conflicts with your printer software and any other software currently on the device. Solution: Go to the HP support site and update the software/drivers for your printers and update the Operating System.
