The main role of restriction enzymes is to slice double or single stranded DNA at specific sites, also known as restriction sites. These sites are found in bacteria that develop and evolve to have an immunity against viruses.

It acts as maximum setpoint for the body, in which when the metabolism hit that set point, the enzymes would restrict it to keep the metabolism beyond acceptable limit
