Richard Petty holds most wins record in NASCAR for a single season. In 1967 he won 27 out of 48 that year with an all time record of 10 straight races. In the "Modern Era" races were reduced to the 30's. This changed happened in 1972 but still has Petty with 13 wins in 1975 and tied with Jeff Gordon.
