in the ghz range with 2 to 3 watts it can reach about 60 yards and receive at over 400 from a dipole transmitter of similar power. They are very high gain and directional devices but not all that great for transmission alot of SWR

Depending on the quality of construction, how much wire you used, and whether you wrapped the wire around a strong ferrous material (iron bar, etc.) or not, a cantenna can have varied range. A good cantenna can actually work much better than a built-in wireless receiver. A properly constructed cantenna can work over 400 meters!
