Choose invitations that are age appropriate. Invite relatives and friends with young children. Indicate the start and ending time for the party. Mail them 2 weeks ahead of the party.

Etiquette is often nothing more than being polite. If you send out invitations with the time of the party, purpose, and location that should be absolutely fine. It doesn't have to be wordy or fancy or formal, its not a wedding invitation. You should include the baby's name and 1st birthday as well.

The proper etiquette for an invitation is pleasant "You are invited" so the person knows what it is. Next you have to give the information about the party like when it is and where and who it is for. Then you end it with "From Your Name" so they know who it is from.

This depends on what YOU expect. If you're planning a big "do" send invitations 3 weeks to a month in advance, I would go earlier if your party is in summer or holidays, and EMPHASIZE if you require an RSVP. Invitees should take this as seriously as an adult party.

A birthday party for a one-year-old is in reality a memory event for the family and specifically the mothers. The same rules apply as would apply to a wedding or baby shower in your community.

since one year olds do not remember their first birthday party, this party is all about the parents. Invite your friends and family and people who you want to celebrate with. It is nice to invite a few other children but keep it small.
