First, don't place a jade plant in lots of sunlight. Placing by an or west window is a good idea. Keep soil non-acidic and only water when it appears dry. Jade plants retain water and should not be watered every day.

Care is pretty easy, but overwatering is a common problem. In the summer, soak the plant thoroughly once every two weeks. In the winter, water once a month.

Jades like to be left alone, meaning don't move them around or fuss with them. They need to be very dry before watering and need good light.
