What is the proper care for canna lilies?

I have several canna lilies that were given to me by my grandmother, I do not have a green thumb and would like some help with caring for them.

Canna lilies are hardy and easy to care for. The main requirement here is lots of water, so place them in a location that is low-lying, or somewhere you can water frequently. Also, the main pest to watch for is caterpillars. Control with Sevin, or remove them by hand.

Cannas, actually not lilies but related to ginger, like moderate climate where they can get 6 hours of sunlight a day. Frost will kill them, but mulching with organic material like straw will keep them through, except in areas where ground freezes hard- in this case container plant or dig up, air dry store in paper bags with peat.

Canna Lilies are very easy to care for in frost free climates. When you initially plant them, mix perlite and peat moss with the soil, and mulch well. In colder climates, bring the bulbs inside each fall.

Choose a spot with well-draining soil and direct sunlight, water regularly, and protect from frost as they are not tolerant of frost.

They are pretty easy to care for as long as you make sure they get sun and water they will pretty much take care of themselves. The biggest thing you need to watch for is to make sure you sperate them often.

Canna Lilies prefer direct sunlight. Be sure to water them as needed and trim away any dead leaves as necessary.
