So-called dead grass can easily come back to life for you. Simply rake the lawn firmly, and spot seed the lawn. A feeding of high quality grass feed is needed. The idea is to feed a lawn, give it strength and then everything else falls into place.

Buy some quality sod and fertilizer and start over. Once it's dead, it's dead down to the roots. And there is no saving dead roots. And a soil analysis would also be a good idea, as your soil may be the culprit.

If it's dead then it's pretty much dead. If it's not sod you can keep watering it all the time and it should come back. You could also toss grass seed on top of the dead grass and water that so new grass grows.

You need to rake it to get the dead grass gone, throw down some grass seed and water it daily!
