The point of removing goat horns has more to do with the goats than human use of the horns. Goats tend to get in all kinds of trouble because of their horns. They often get stuck in fences or gates because their horns get tangled up. They can also hurt each other during play or fighting if they have horns.

The "point" to removing goat horns is to keep your goats from injuring each other with they play or vie for female attention. It also reduces the damage they do to the things in their surrounding areas.

Not that I know of but the horns are removed for the protection of the goat its self as well as the other goats and people around them because a goat will horn you if they are feeling cross or threatened.
