Depending on your physical condition, the pain a tattoo will give you may vary. Knowing lots of people with tattoos and being tattooed myself, the most painful place I know and most people agree with is the ribcage because the needles go straight into the bones.

Everyone's body and pain tolerance is different, but for me the most painful ones were my ribcage, the top of my foot, and my underarm... in that order. The least painful were my wrist and the back of my neck.

Most people say that the wrist or ankle is the most painful place to get a tattoo, because there is little underneath the skin to "pad" the tattoo needle.

This varies from person to person. Most agree that directly over a bone is a painful area. Also, the tops of feet are a commonly painful spot.

The upper back- right below your neck. It wasn't horrible, but some spots were extra sensitive.

There is no one answer to this question as different people's pain tolerance and specific body type can alter the answer. In general, however, if you're concerned about pain avoid very fleshy spots, such as your stomach, and very bony spots, such as the top of your foot.

I'd say the neck, ankle, or lower back.
