The Anderson air-raid shelter was made in 1938 as a request from the British government. Made of galvanised corrugated steel panels and designed to hold up to 6 people, they were meant to be buried into the ground, and the roof covered with soil.

Anderson shelters were bomb shelters in England. The first one went up in 1939. When the Germans started their air war against England soon after, Anderson shelters saved many lives.
