The rabbis in old times, ancient times insisted on the marriage couple entering into the ketubah as a protection for the wife. A ketubah is a Jewish prenuptial agreement. It is considered an integral part of a traditional Jewish marriage. The ketubah is signed by two witnesses and traditionally read out under the chuppah. Handed to the bride for safekeeping.

Ketubah is a marriage contract which lists all obligations of a man to his wife. It`s usually written in Aramaic language, but uses standard Hebrew letters. Names of husband and wife must be written in Hebrew. Two witnesses must sign the ketubah.
