Long story, but the shortened version is that after Zeus had an affair with a mortal, Hera tricks the woman into asking Zeus to reveal his true identity as a god. This is bad for mortals and consumes her when his identity is revealed. Zeus saves his son by turning him into a goat. His son is Dionysus.

Zuess disguised Dionysus as a goat and had him raised by a nymph to protect him from Hera, who would have destroyed the boy.
