What is the fleshy node of an orchid called?

I am trying to do a diagram of an orchid flower for a science project.

That would be a spike node. Spikes are the bumpy area on a flower. The spike node is the main area while a plant grows. The fleshy node around this spiked node is called the column. This is where the flower houses its stamens and pistils.
