What is the difference between DNA and RNA?

DNA is double stranded and is inside of the nucleus. RNA is single stranded and can move in and out of the nucleus. DNA contains thymine and RNA contains uracil.

In simple terms, DNA carries your genetic material that is carried on throughout the species and RNA carries the protein that is vital for some of life's functions.
