What is the difference between atoms and molecules?

An atom is the smallest unit of matter; Molecules are a composition of other atoms that are bounded together through a force called the electrical force (Coulomb force). For instance an atom would be oxygen. A, example molecule of oxygen would be two oxygen atoms bonded together by an attraction written as O2.

Atoms can be a singal element or the compounds of many elements. But molecules are only for the compounds that containing two or more elements
