What is the difference between an LCD TV and a plasma TV?

There are many differences, LCD is based on light and does not show true black. Plasma is based off of gas and in theory the gas could run out.

An LCD Tv uses uses less energy and creates less heat, it uses crystals that are contained within two thin layers. Plasma TVs us two glass panels that contain plasma (from neon-xenon gas), the picture coming from phosphors that 'light up'.

First difference is the size. LCD TV's range 5-65+ Inches and Plasma TV range from 5-65+ inches.LCD TV's consume less power than Plasma TV's, making them a more power efficient product.

LCD Televisions uses a current through liquid crystals to create images, A plasma television uses electrically charged gas between glass panels to display red, blue & green phosphors,.
